Unified Sports is back, and we want you to be a part of it!

Unified Sports- A Community of Champions!

Program Goals:

1. Breaking down barriers.
2. Reducing stigma and bullying and breaking down stereotypes about people with intellectual disabilities.
3.  Building community.
4. Helping kids develop interests and act as a team, and creating more inclusive schools.
5. Long-term bonds.
6. Fostering relationships that can last from youth through high school and into adulthood. 

The TCSD inclusion team members will be:

• Students
• Teachers
• Related Service Providers
• Athletic Directors
• Special Education Administration

On behalf of TCSD student we will work collaboratively as a team to:

• Promote Unified Sports events and activities
• Build leadership opportunities within the district
• Seek accreditation to be qualified as banner schools within Unified Sports
• Broaden outreach to junior high schools
• Address policy or procedures for participation within junior high schools
• Provide information to school team and families regarding Unified Sports
• Create a sustainable system within our district to promote inclusion

Our team will meet monthly to evaluate progress on action items and disseminate information regarding student participation numbers, costs/expenses involved in supporting Unified Sports events and activities, student leadership opportunities and participation, and the number of events our district participated in or hosted for the school year.
