Tooele County School District will begin the 2020–21 school year on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, for all district students. The TCSD Board of Education and Administration, in conjunction with health officials, state and local government will lead the District's effort to safely open and operate schools. This follows a state requirement for all Utah schools to offer options for in-person learning for Fall 2020.

The decision to fully reopen schools this fall was made after members of the Board of Education reviewed research and guidance from TCSD’s seven task forces, and reviewing information provided by the Utah Health Department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with city and state leadership, as it relates to minimizing the spread of COVID-19 and the social and emotional well-being on employees and students.

Students will attend school Monday through Thursday. On Friday they will participate in a digital learning day. Friday is considered as a half day for students and should be treated as such. Teachers will use this day for training, professional development and preparation. Students attending the Necessarily Existing Small Schools, (Wendover, Ibapah, Dugway, and Vernon), will attend school Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday they will participate in a digital day of learning.
