Superintendent
Dr. Mark Ernst currently serves as Superintendent of Schools for Tooele County School District; before this role, he was an assistant superintendent, area director, principal, assistant principal, and teacher. Dr. Ernst earned his Bachelor's degree at Weber State University in History Education, his Master's at the University of Phoenix in Secondary Teaching, and his Doctor of Education in Leadership and Professional Practices at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Ernst is a TCSD Teacher of the Year Finalist (2006), TCSD Administrator of the Year (2012), and a Utah State Administrator of the Year Finalist, (2014).
Dr. Ernst is married to his wife Julie; they have three children and two granddaughters. Along with spending time with his family, Mark enjoys cooking, reading, building Legos, and relaxing with a good television show.
Dr. Ernst looks forward to assisting Tooele County School District in bettering practices and enhancing students' education.
