Help stop the spread of false information

There are letters circulating around social media in our county using different school & district logos. The info being presented is obviously false. If you see it, please report it. Parents and guardians, please check your child's social media accounts to help prevent spreading additional false information. If you do not see it on official sources, it's likely not true. Thank you.

THS Holds Test-To-Stay Event

Tooele High School has reached the two percent threshold for positive COVID-19 cases. The Tooele County Health Department will implement a "Test-To-Stay" protocol this week. According to Senate Bill 107, passed during the 2021 Utah Special legislative session, if a school with 1,500 or more students have two percent of their students test positive for COVID-19 within the previous 14 days, the school will conduct a Test to Stay event. Tooele High families will be contacted by the school with more information.

Construction delays push back opening for Deseret Peak High

Tooele County School District began bond projects immediately after the bond was approved by voters in the November 2020 election. As shortages for construction materials became a problem it was apparent Deseret Peak High School’s completion date of August 2024 would not be met.

Second Step Social-Emotional Learning Program

Within the past two decades, it was recognized emotional well-being is closely tied to academics and that social-emotional learning is key to increasing positive behavior and mental wellness.

Leadership Matters - Back to School

One of my own fondest childhood memories is of returning to school each fall. I remember the feeling of excitement about reuniting with classmates and getting a new backpack and clothes. I wondered what I would learn and who would be my new friend in the upcoming school year. My hope is that all our students feel this way.  We can all make this happen by being observant of our students and staff and their needs.

Boundaries for Grantsville City Elementary Schools Selected

This week, the TCSD Board of Education approved the 2022 boundaries for Grantsville City elementary schools. Earlier this year, a boundary advisory committee came up with four possible boundary options. A community survey was conducted, and both the survey results and the committee’s recommendations favored Option 3. On Tuesday, the BOE unanimously agreed with Boundary Option 3.

UPDATE: Outdoor activities may resume - 8/9/2021- Air quality will continue to be monitored

8/8/2021 -Outdoor activities cancelled due to air quality. After consulting with the Tooele County Health Department, all outdoor activities have been cancelled due to poor air quality until further notice. Please coordinate details with coaches for all practices or scrimmages. We will provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your understanding.
