THS Holds Test-To-Stay Event

Tooele High students will be required to participate in the Test-To-Stay event whether vaccinated or not. Testing will occur Thursday, September 16 and Friday September 17 in the Tooele High auditorium.  Parent or guardian approval must be given prior to testing. That approval can be given by accessing the online COVID-19 Diagnostic Test Consent Form at

In addition, the following protocols will be followed during the event:

  • If your child tests positive, they will be discretely placed in an isolation room and the parent/guardian or emergency contact will be contacted to take your child home.
  • If your child tests negative, they can return to class.
  • If your child is not tested, they will not be allowed to attend school and will be placed in quarantine for 10 days.
  • If a parent/guardian chooses to have testing done at an alternate location, such as a testing site or through a healthcare provider, the test results will need to be provided to the school before the student can return.

Trained members from the Utah Department of Health, the Tooele County Health Department and Tooele County School District will administer the test. The COVID test is a simple nasal swab that will be placed just beyond the entrance of the student’s nose. It will not reach halfway up their nose.

As always, parents or guardians may choose to not involve their child in the testing. However, please know if that is the case, your child will not be allowed to return to school or participate in any school sponsored activities until Monday, September 27.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
