School Reports

PACE
The Governor's "On PACE 66% by 2020" initiative seeks to increase the state's educational performance. The vision is that by the year 2020 at least two-thirds of Utahans ages 20 to 64 will have earned a postsecondary degree or certificate. PACE School Reports evaluate the following key metrics of academic performance of Utah schools: Reading and mathematics proficiency levels in grades 3, 6 & 8; Overall school proficiency rates in English language Arts, Math and Science; Overall school performance including growth and achievement points earned; Percentage of high school seniors taking the ACT test; and High School graduation rates. Not all grades and subjects are included due to the fact that not all grades and courses have statewide end-of-year assessments (K-2, social studies, world languages, health, arts, health/PE, and advanced math such as calculus).

School Grading
As with the PACE reports, School Grading reports have been created by the Utah State Office of Education to assist in evaluating the academic performance of Utah schools in language arts, math (beginning in grade 3), and science (beginning in grade 4) using the results from Utah end-of-year SAGE tests. For high schools, graduation rate and percentage of students reaching ACT college benchmark scores are also included. Not all grades and subjects are included due to the fact that not all grades and courses have statewide end-of-year assessments (K-2, social studies, world languages, health, arts, health/PE, and advanced math such as calculus)
